Who the heck imports an Astro van from Japan? Clearly someone once imported it from the US based on the lights and LHD. And why is the picture quality so terrible? I could almost make out some cool stuff from behind the compression.

I suppose the Astro makes sense as it is a smaller and more compact van with most of the capability of a larger body on frame van like one of the last gen Dodge Ram vans that have a niche following.
But is it not just Dajibans?

I do live in Finland but my colleague used to own a 2nd generation Astro that had been imported from Japan. It was an AWD model with a Stillen bodykit. It was in really nice condi tion w hen it arrived to Finland. The bodykit was apparently super rare as I haven’t even seen a picture of similar set.

I do like the Astro but it’s not the kind of thing I actually want that badly. I’m curious as to what the appeal is when Japan has so many capable AWD vans of all sizes. It just seems like most American vans are less space efficient and thirstier with not much more power to trade for towing capability. As I understand it, the towing capability was the main reason those shorty Dodge Ram vans had a niche following in Japan before they decided to race them.
Then again, good luck finding an Astro in the US that has actually been taken care of.
